Legal requirements and the marriage license

To marry legally in Las Vegas, you need a Clark County marriage license. It costs $102, paid by credit or debit card only, plus a fee. Checks are not accepted.

- No blood test and no waiting period.
- Both partners must be 18 or older.
- Each partner needs an original, physical photo ID. A passport is fine. Copies and digital IDs are not.
- You must both appear in person, together.
- You can fill in the application online first. It stays valid for 1 year.
- The name on the license must match your ID exactly.
Where to get it
Clark County's pages say the Marriage License Bureau at 201 E. Clark Avenue is open 8 a.m. to midnight every day. It usually takes under an hour, and you need no appointment.
How your home country records the marriage is up to that country, so check with it before you go.
Renewing your vows in Las Vegas
To renew your vows in Las Vegas, book the chapel package, which offers a wedding or a vow renewal. It includes an officiated license or a ceremony certificate.
The listing says the $102 license applies only "if applicable", so you don't need one to renew vows.
How to plan it: dates, booking ahead and guests
Plan in three steps: pick a package, fill in the license form online, then get the license together in person. All four packages cancel free up to 24 hours ahead, so you can book early.
Check how many guests fit. The Elvis listing says the limo seats 6 and the chapel seats 24. The drive-up limo takes up to 6, and the helicopter takes up to 5.
