Free first: what costs nothing on Fremont Street

Almost everything on Fremont Street is free. The street itself is open 24 hours, says the Fremont Street Experience.

Live concerts are free too. Its site says shows run on three stages every night.

The light shows on the canopy are free as well. The casino partners pay for them, the Fremont Street Experience's schedule said.

You only pay for extras, like SlotZilla or a guided tour. There are more free things to do in Las Vegas beyond downtown.

Things to do on Fremont Street

The top things to do on Fremont Street are the light show, the free stages and SlotZilla. You can do all three in one evening.

The Viva Vision light show

The Viva Vision canopy shows run every night from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. They start at the top of each hour, the Fremont Street Experience's schedule said.

Each show lasts about 6 to 8 minutes. That official schedule page was offline when we checked, so check the times on the night.

SlotZilla zipline

SlotZilla is a zipline under the canopy, sold by the Fremont Street Experience itself. It is not on GetYourGuide.

The Zip Line is seated and starts at $49 Monday to Thursday, $55 Friday to Sunday. The Zoom Line is lying face-down and starts at $69 or $75.

Things to do in downtown Las Vegas

Downtown Las Vegas has more than Fremont Street: museums, an arts district and food. Most of it is close together.

The Mob Museum is at 300 Stewart Avenue, steps from Fremont Street, says the museum.

The Neon Museum's old signs are a short ride north, at 770 Las Vegas Blvd. N.

The Arts District has street art, vintage shops and craft breweries. The art and ale walk starts there, at The Arts Factory on E Charleston Blvd.

The downtown food walk is one of several Las Vegas foodie tours we compare. It starts at a restaurant on S 6th St.

Getting to Fremont Street from the Strip

The easiest way without a car is the Deuce bus. RTC's schedule says it runs 24 hours a day from the Strip to the Fremont Street Experience.

The monorail does not go downtown. Its last stop in the north is SAHARA Las Vegas.

A tour with pickup saves you the ride back late at night. The night tour picks up at several Strip hotels.

A tour bus in Las Vegas is the other way down without a car; our city tours guide compares them.

Before you book downtown

  1. Cancel for free

All five picks have free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Check the time on your booking.

  2. Bring ID after dark

The beer walk and the food walk are for adults 21 and over. Bring a photo ID.

  3. Find the start

The walks meet downtown: The Arts Factory, a restaurant on S 6th St or the Golden Gate. Only the night tour and the limo pick you up.

  4. Plan for tips

Gratuity is not included on the night tour, the beer walk or the limo. The food walk includes restaurant tips.

  5. Mind the heat

Summer days are hot: normal highs are 105°F (41°C) in July, says the National Weather Service. Go after dark, when the light shows run.
