Las Vegas city and night tours: the options

A bus tour in Las Vegas comes in three kinds: hop-on hop-off by day, open-top night tours and themed rides. Here is what each one is for.

  • Hop-on hop-off: a 24- or 48-hour Big Bus ticket that runs from the Strip to Downtown, from €52.
  • Night tours: the Big Bus night tour (2 hours, from €53) or a guided night tour with hotel pickup (4 hours, from €95).
  • Themed rides: a high tea bus on the Strip (from €88) and a bus trip to the Neon Museum (from €75).

City and night tours compared

The hop-on hop-off ticket gives you the most time, and the night tours give you the lights. Here is how the five compare.

How to choose: hop-on hop-off, night bus, walking or something different

A 24-hour ticket pays off if you use it to reach Downtown and the far ends of the Strip. If you stay near one block, you may not need it.

Pick a night tour for the lights, and the hop-on hop-off bus for daytime stops. Pick the guided night tour if you want hotel pickup.

If you'd rather not pay at all, our list of free things to do in Las Vegas covers the Strip on foot.

GoCar: drive yourself

A GoCar is a small two-seat car with GPS audio. The GoCar mob tour, with a Mob Museum ticket, is on our Mob Museum page.

Walking tours

Guided walks in Las Vegas are mostly ghost and mob walks. Our ghost tours guide, in the list below, compares them.

Hop-on hop-off bus: routes, stops, times and which ticket

The Big Bus ticket lasts 24 or 48 hours, and its Red Route runs from the Strip to Downtown. It is the hop-on hop-off Las Vegas bus on our list.

You start the ticket in the Big Bus app, which also shows where the buses are. The bus starts at 3973 Linq Ln.

The route has about 9 to 10 stops, including The STRAT, the Mob Museum and the Welcome sign, as travel guides list them. First and last bus times are in the app; we could not confirm them from an official source.

Take the 48-hour ticket if you want more time to hop off. A 7 p.m. night tour can be added as an option.

Night tours: when to go and what you see

Night tours leave in the evening and show the Strip lit up. The Big Bus night tour lasts about 2 hours and passes the Bellagio fountains, Fremont Street and the Welcome sign.

Night tours are not hop-on hop-off, so you stay on the bus. On any bus tour, most of your time is spent seated. If you want longer at each stop, the hop-on hop-off ticket lets you get off and stay.

The 21+ option meets at the Hard Rock Cafe by 7:15 p.m. for an 8 p.m. start. Vegas After Dark is the same Big Bus 21+ tour sold on its own, so we list it only as this option.

The 8 p.m. tour ends at about 10 p.m., early enough for one of the best shows in Vegas.

The night city tour with hotel pickup takes 4 hours and includes the Bellagio fountain show. Dinner is not included.

Bus tour or public bus, monorail and walking: what is cheapest

The public Deuce bus is the cheapest way to ride the Strip. RTC's schedule says it runs 24/7 from the Strip to Fremont Street, and a 24-hour Strip pass is $8.

The Las Vegas Monorail costs $6.25 a ride, or $5.75 online. It runs behind the east side of the Strip, from MGM Grand to SAHARA, and does not go Downtown.

Our Las Vegas Monorail guide covers tickets and stations. For every way to ride, see getting around Las Vegas.

Neither the Deuce nor the monorail has a guide. A bus tour adds the story and the photo stops. RTC has proposed new fares from January 31, 2027, so check its site before you ride.

More sightseeing in the city: Fremont Street, High Roller, helicopter and more

More sights have their own guides, in the list above. Here is what each one offers.

  • Fremont Street: free concerts on three stages every night, under the Downtown canopy.
  • Bellagio fountains: free to watch from the Strip.
  • High Roller and the Eiffel Tower deck: views from high above the Strip.
  • The STRAT: a tower with a viewing deck and thrill rides.
  • Helicopter tours: the Strip from the air.
  • Ghost tours: guided walks on the Strip and Downtown.
